I’m James, founder of Lampide, a brand inspired by timeless outdoor lighting, built on generations of craftsmanship, and driven by a passion for design.

I’m an exterior design engineer, but my connection to lighting started long before my career. As a child, I spent every summer at my grandfather’s house. But what stuck with me above all was the gardens and the stone walls, and not just those, but the antique outdoor lights that illuminated everything at night with their warm, glowing radius of light. Those lamps were magical, full of history and soul.

My father was a forger, a genuine artisan who tempered metal with fire and skill. I had watched him with quiet diligence as a child growing up, and it was this love of material and detail that I brought with me as part of my journey.

In 2022, I decided to merge all those influences:

🔹 And my design background as a professional

Thus was born Lampide, a return to classic outdoor lamps, brought up to date but not forgetting the old world.

Craftsmanship Meets Growth

What began as a small concept now employs a growing team of 50+ passionate individuals with a shared love of the natural beauty of durable outdoor lighting. Today, Lampide's reach spans across all of Chicago State, providing high quality, character-filled lamps to residence, business owner and designers.

Our next goal? To bring Lampide light to the far reaches of the USA, sharing with everyone the warm, timeless glow that started it all.
